The subjects of this research were 15 students, the technique for selecting research subjects used Purposive Sampling, the instruments used in data collection were tests, interviews and documentation. The test results were analyzed based on Newman's criteria with the criteria reading error (re), comprehension error (ce), transformation error (te), process skill error (pse) and encoding error (ee). After that, students were interviewed based on the types of errors the students made. The results of the research showed that the types of errors made by students were: (1) Reading Error (RE) of 29 errors, namely students were not careful in reading the words or important information in the question, (2) Comprehension Error (CE) of 34 errors, namely students were not careful, forgot and were confused in writing and determining what was known and asked in the question, (3) Transformation Error (TE) was 13 errors, namely students did not pay attention to the formula that had been made, then students were less careful in using the correct formula, (4) Process Skill Error (PSE) as many as 7 errors, (5) Encoding Error (EE) as many as 31 errors, namely the result of previous errors in the calculation process so that students were in a hurry to work out the final answer.
Desi Ira Dya Fitri, Rahmi Rahmi, Hafizah Delyana Copyright (c) https://journal.uniku.ac.id/index.php/JESMath/article/view/11689 Sun, 30 Mar 2025 00:00:00 +0700 ANALISIS LEVEL KEMAMPUAN NUMERIK SISWA SMA PADA MATERI SISTEM PERSAMAAN LINIER TIGA VARIABEL (SPLTV) https://journal.uniku.ac.id/index.php/JESMath/article/view/11691
The numerical ability of Indonesian students is still recorded at a low level. This is based on the results of the Indonesian language mathematics PISA test which also includes a numerical ability test with a score of 403 in 2015 and 396 in This study analyzes students' numerical ability in completing the Three Variable Linear Equation System (SPLTV) material at SMA Negeri 1 Kasokandel. This study uses a qualitative descriptive approach with a case study design, which is a method of analyzing data related to a case. This study involved 30 students of class X-G as subjects. Data were collected through numerical ability tests, interviews, and documentation. The results of the study showed that the level of students' numerical ability was quite good, with most students being able to perform mathematical calculations and solve problems although there were still minor errors that needed to be corrected. Analysis of the forms of problems faced by students showed difficulties in understanding the basic concepts of SPLTV, variable identification, integration of mathematical concepts, verification of solutions, and adaptation to variations in questions. These findings highlight the importance of developing logical thinking skills and conceptual understanding in the learning process. Recommendations provided include the integration of diverse teaching methods by teachers, the provision of adequate educational resources by schools, the development of disciplined study habits by students, and the need for further research to examine other factors that influence students' numerical abilities.
Irma Sri Meylinda, Iman Solahudin Copyright (c) https://journal.uniku.ac.id/index.php/JESMath/article/view/11691 Mon, 31 Mar 2025 00:00:00 +0700 ANALISIS KESULITAN BELAJAR SISWA PADA PEMBELAJARAN MATEMATIKA KELAS VI SD KARTIKA XIX/7 KOTA CIREBON https://journal.uniku.ac.id/index.php/JESMath/article/view/11692
Students' learning difficulties in learning flat shape mathematics are the main phenomenon underlying this research. This research aims to examine and describe students' learning difficulties and the causes of students experiencing learning difficulties in learning flat shape mathematics. The subjects in this research were 10 class VI students at Kartika XIX/7 Elementary School, Cirebon City. The research subjects were taken using the Purposive Sampling method. The type of research used is descriptive qualitative. Data collection uses test instruments in the form of essay questions and non-test instruments in the form of interviews. The data analysis technique in research consists of three stages, namely data reduction, data presentation and drawing conclusions. This research was also carried out in three stages which included the preparation stage, research implementation stage, and completion stage. The results of this research show that students' learning difficulties in plane material were analyzed using the Van Hiele level of thinking. The data shows that the majority of students experience difficulties at the deduction (82%) and rigor (82%) levels. Meanwhile, difficulties at the level of visualization (8%), analysis (10%), and informal deduction (6%) were relatively lower.
Muhammad Rusdin, Dina Pratiwi Dwi Santi Copyright (c) https://journal.uniku.ac.id/index.php/JESMath/article/view/11692 Mon, 31 Mar 2025 00:00:00 +0700 LESSON STUDY: UPAYA MENINGKATKAN KUALITAS PEMBELAJARAN MATEMATIKA https://journal.uniku.ac.id/index.php/JESMath/article/view/11693
Lesson Study is an activity that involves teachers in designing, implementing, observing, and reflecting on the learning process. This study aims to analyze the application of Lesson Study in an effort to improve the quality of mathematics learning. This research is qualitative research carried out in conjunction with the Introduction to Education Field (PLP) activity from September 9 to October 25, 2024 at SMA Negeri 10 Yogyakarta. The subject of the study is class XI 4 students consisting of 36 students in the 2024/2025 school year. Data were collected through observations, interview, and documentation of the learnin process. The collected data were analyzed using a qualitative descriptive. The results of the study show that each stage of Lesson Study, namely plan, do, and see, has been carried out in 2 cycles well. At the plan stage, the model teacher arranges learning tools as needed. Furthermore, in the do stage, the model teacher implements a learning plan that includes preliminary activities, core activities, and closing activities. Finally, in the see stage, the model teacher and the observer conduct reflection to evaluate the success and improvement of learning. The results of the study also showed an improvement in the quality of mathematics learning. The improvement indicator can be seen from the increase in student activity during the learning process and the increase in student learning outcomes. These findings show that the implementation of the right learning strategies can have a positive impact on the quality of mathematics learning in the classroom.
Fauziah Indria Pramesti, Suparni, Sunarni Copyright (c) https://journal.uniku.ac.id/index.php/JESMath/article/view/11693 Mon, 31 Mar 2025 00:00:00 +0700 KLASIFIKASI MACHINE LEARNING UNTUK ANEMIA MENGGUNAKAN METODE SUPPORT VECTOR MACHINE DAN RANDOM FOREST https://journal.uniku.ac.id/index.php/JESMath/article/view/11694
This research involves the classification of anemia using the support vector machine (SVM) and random forest (RF) methods. SVM has the ability to separate two classes of data by finding the optimal hyperplane. On the other hand, Random Forest can handle incomplete or missing data, reduce overfitting, minimize errors, and efficiently handle large training datasets. The classification of anemia in this study uses a 70% training data and 30% testing data split. The accuracy rate of classification using the SVM method is 94%. In comparison, the classification using the RF method achieves an accuracy rate of 98%.
Zam Nur Wahida , Irwan, Muh.
