Pengujian Prediktor Job Insecurity: Kelompok Karyawan Manakah Yang Lebih Rentan Mengalaminya Selama Pandemi Covid-19?

Abstract


Recently, the industrial world has had to make organizational changes in response to adjustments to the Covid-19 pandemic to continue to exist by saving operational costs, changing work patterns, reducing salaries to streamlining employees. This leads to an increase in the employee's sense of job insecurity. This study is aimed at testing job insecurity predictors, namely subjective predictors (represented by readiness for change) and objective predictors (represented by age demographics, length of service and education). Empirical testing was carried out by taking data through a survey of 147 employees in Indonesia who worked in sectors directly affected by the Covid-19 pandemic (such as health, education, banking, hospitality, etc.). The results show that there is a significant negative influence of readiness on changes to job insecurity. The individual background of the working period and level of education has been shown to have a negative effect on job insecurity, but no empirical evidence of the positive influence of age on job insecurity as hypothesized. There are several implications for those results as well as the limitations and suggestions given by the researcher at the end of the section.
