Using a sample size of 400 retrieved questionnaires from a distributed 480, the study employed statistical analyses to test three hypotheses. The findings reveal a significant positive relationship between corporate governance practices and HRM outcomes. Firstly, strong corporate governance practices were found to foster higher employee commitment, driven by transparent, ethical, and accountable leadership. This commitment enhances organizational productivity and reduces employee turnover. Secondly, corporate governance was shown to play a crucial role in the formulation of fair, transparent, and legally compliant employment contracts, which are essential for maintaining healthy labor relations in the highly regulated oil and gas sector. Thirdly, the study highlights that robust governance structures improve disciplinary and grievance procedures, ensuring fairness, reducing conflicts, and promoting organizational harmony. The study concludes that corporate governance is a critical driver of effective HRM practices in Nigeria’s oil and gas industry. By promoting accountability, transparency, and ethical leadership, organizations can enhance employee trust, motivation, and overall workplace environment. Recommendations include strengthening corporate governance frameworks through ethical leadership training, enhancing employee engagement, ensuring compliance in employment contracts, and implementing fair disciplinary and grievance structures. The study also emphasizes the need for further research to explore the evolving relationship between corporate governance and HRM practices, especially in industries facing unique operational and environmental challenges.
2025-02-01T04:37:20+07:00Copyright (c) 2025 Solomon Onovwionahttps://journal.uniku.ac.id/index.php/logika/article/view/10994The Impact of Sexual Harassment on Work Attitudes in Tertiary Educational Institutions in Delta State2025-03-07T13:23:46+07:00N. Lilian Nwokochalilian@gmail.comAkpobolokemi Andrew Ayewumiandrewyouyou@gmail.comUgo Chuks Okolieokolie@gmail.com
This study explores the impact of sexual harassment on key work attitudes job satisfaction, employee commitment, and job engagement in tertiary educational institutions in Delta State, Nigeria. Utilizing both correlation and multiple regression analyses, the study consistently finds that sexual harassment negatively influences these work attitudes. Specifically, increased levels of sexual harassment correlate with decreased job satisfaction, lower employee commitment, and reduced job engagement among employees. These findings highlight the dual role of sexual harassment as both a violation of employee rights and a major barrier to employee productivity and well-being within academic institutions. The research underscores the particular concern regarding the negative effects of harassment on employee commitment and engagement. Employees who experience sexual harassment are more likely to feel disengaged from their work and less emotionally invested in their roles. This disengagement not only impacts individual morale but also threatens overall organizational performance, potentially undermining the academic environment and institutional success. The study advocates for a proactive approach in tertiary institutions to address sexual harassment, emphasizing the importance of creating a safer and more inclusive work environment that prioritizes the well-being of employees. In light of these findings, the study proposes several recommendations for tertiary institutions in Delta State, Nigeria, to mitigate the impact of sexual harassment. These include implementing comprehensive anti-harassment policies, conducting regular training and awareness programs, establishing safe and confidential reporting mechanisms, promoting organizational support for victims, and regularly monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of harassment prevention measures. By adopting these strategies, academic institutions can enhance employee satisfaction, commitment, and engagement, fostering a more positive and productive academic culture.
2025-02-01T00:00:00+07:00Copyright (c) 2025 Akpobolokemi Andrew AYEWUMIhttps://journal.uniku.ac.id/index.php/logika/article/view/10996The Impact of Marketing Concept on Customer Patronage in United Bank for Africa Plc in Delta State2025-03-07T13:23:46+07:00Clement Temuclementtemu@gmail.comOderoha Omogor Joyjoy@gmail.com
This study investigates the impact of the marketing concept on customer patronage in United Bank for Africa (UBA) Plc in Delta State. Specifically, it explores the roles of three key variables: the application of the marketing concept, customer satisfaction, and customer-centric marketing strategies. Using a regression analysis of data collected from 327 respondents, the findings reveal that all three variables have a statistically significant influence on customer patronage and loyalty. Firstly, the application of the marketing concept was shown to positively affect customer patronage. UBA’s strategies, such as tailoring services to customer needs, offering innovative products, and focusing on customer satisfaction, have proven effective in attracting and retaining customers. Secondly, customer satisfaction emerged as a critical determinant of customer patronage, emphasizing that satisfied customers are more likely to remain loyal and recommend the bank to others. Lastly, customer-centric marketing strategies, including loyalty programs and personalized services, were identified as significant drivers of customer loyalty, fostering long-term relationships and enhancing customer retention. These findings underscore the importance of strategic marketing practices in building strong customer relationships within the banking sector. The study concludes that UBA’s marketing efforts centered around customer-focused approaches are effective in driving patronage and loyalty. Recommendations include strengthening the marketing concept, enhancing customer satisfaction through service improvements, expanding loyalty programs, and leveraging digital technologies for better customer engagement. The insights provide valuable lessons for banks and organizations seeking to sustain growth in a competitive financial industry.
2025-02-01T08:14:53+07:00Copyright (c) 2025 Clement Temuhttps://journal.uniku.ac.id/index.php/logika/article/view/7024Implementasi Produk Pembiayaan di PT. PT. Permodalan Nasional Madani (PNM) Mekaar Syariah is a leading financial institution with BUMN status that specializes in women as its clients. The type of research that the author conducted was field research using qualitative methods by using primary data and secondary data. The results of PNM Mekaar's research are financial institutions that do not impose collateral or other guarantees on customers. PNM Mekaar is a pioneer of financial institutions that prioritize groups and use customers' attendance at weekly group meetings as collateral. Factors that can cause the customer's business to not develop are inaccuracies in providing financing products, customers who choose to stop their business because the business capital is not returned, the increasing number of competitors who are more competent in business so they prefer to close and too many loans which result in customers dig holes and cover holes, causing new problems for customers which result in customers having difficulty paying their installments.
2025-02-07T08:02:06+07:00Copyright (c) 2025 Chiska Alih Muliasari, Neneng Wahyunihttps://journal.uniku.ac.id/index.php/logika/article/view/10997The Effect of Globalization on Performance of Manufacturing Firms in South-South, Nigeria2025-03-07T13:23:46+07:00Therresa O. In Indonesia, water quality is increasingly threatened by human activities, including the Cisanggarung River in Kuningan Regency. Problems include water quantity that is not sufficient for needs and declining water quality, especially for drinking water. Water quality is influenced by the surrounding environment and pollution due to changes in environmental factors. This research examines land use in the Cisanggarung river basin (DAS) through satellite image analysis and measurement of physical and chemical water parameters. Spatial analysis using satellite image interpretation and water quality analysis involves measuring Dissolved Oxygen (DO), pH, water temperature, turbidity, Total Dissolved Solid (TDS), Biochemical Oxygen Demand (BOD), and Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD) according to SNI standards. The research results show that land use in the upper reaches of Cisanggarung is classified into 3 land uses, namely forest land use with an area of 337.88 ha (46.65%), agricultural/plantation land 262.6 ha (33.35%) and land use for settlements with area 143.74 ha (19.85%). The use of forest land has an influence on lower TDS and TN values, while the use of agricultural/plantation and residential land influences the BOD and COD values. Water quality from upstream to downstream of the river has increased in physical and chemical parameters, showing the significant influence of land use type on river water quality.
2025-03-07T00:00:00+07:00Copyright (c) 2025 Naufal Althaaf, Iing Nasihin, Nurdin Nurdin
