English Review: Journal of English Education (ERJEE) upholds the highest standards of research integrity and publication ethics. We take allegations of research misconduct seriously and are committed to investigating all credible concerns in accordance with COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics) guidelines.

1. Definition of Research Misconduct

Research misconduct includes, but is not limited to:

  • Plagiarism: Using another person's words, data, or ideas without proper attribution.
  • Data fabrication or falsification: Making up or altering data or results.
  • Authorship manipulation: Including individuals who have not contributed or excluding contributors.
  • Redundant publication: Publishing the same or very similar material in multiple outlets without proper disclosure.
  • Citation manipulation: Excessive or inappropriate citation practices for boosting metrics.
  • Undisclosed conflicts of interest that influence interpretation or reporting of research.

2. Reporting Allegations

Allegations of misconduct may be reported by authors, reviewers, editors, or third parties via email to the Editor-in-Chief at: [email protected]

The report must include:

  • A detailed description of the suspected misconduct.
  • Relevant evidence or documentation.
  • Identification of the involved article or manuscript (title, DOI, author, etc.).

Reports will be treated with confidentiality and handled by the editorial board.

3.  Investigation Procedure

Upon receiving an allegation, ERJEE will:

  1. Acknowledge receipt of the allegation to the complainant.
  2. Conduct an initial assessment to determine if the claim is credible and supported by evidence.
  3. If misconduct is suspected:
    • Contact the authors for an explanation.
    • Request clarification or original data when necessary.
    • Notify the authors' affiliated institutions when appropriate.

During this process, the manuscript under investigation may be placed on hold.

4. Outcomes and Actions

If research misconduct is confirmed, ERJEE may take the following actions:

  • Manuscript rejection or publication retraction, if already published.
  • Publication of a retraction notice, correction, or expression of concern.
  • Notification to authors' institutions or funding agencies.
  • Banning authors from submitting to the journal for a defined period.

If no misconduct is found, the manuscript will proceed through the normal editorial process.

5. Confidentiality and Fairness

All allegations and investigations will be conducted impartially and confidentially. All parties involved will be treated with fairness and given the opportunity to respond to allegations.
