English Review: Journal of English Education (ERJEE) applies a double-blind peer review process to ensure the academic quality, originality, and integrity of the articles it publishes. Every manuscript submitted to ERJEE undergoes a structured and impartial review by at least two independent reviewers who are experts in the relevant field.

1. Initial Screening (Pre-review Stage)

Upon submission, the editorial team conducts an initial check to ensure the manuscript:

  • Falls within the scope of the journal
  • Meets submission and formatting guidelines
  • Passes a plagiarism check using appropriate software tools (e.g., Turnitin)

Manuscripts that fail to meet these criteria will be returned to authors for revision or desk-rejected.

2. Double-Blind Peer Review

Manuscripts that pass the initial screening are assigned to at least two qualified reviewers under the double-blind system, meaning:

  • Authors do not know the identities of the reviewers
  • Reviewers do not know the identities of the authors

Reviewers evaluate the manuscript based on the following criteria:

  • Relevance and originality of the topic
  • Theoretical and methodological soundness
  • Clarity of writing and organization
  • Depth of analysis and interpretation
  • Contribution to the field of English language education, linguistics, or literature

3. Review Outcomes

Based on reviewers’ recommendations, the editorial decision may be:

  • Accept
  • Minor Revisions Required
  • Major Revisions Required
  • Reject

The editor-in-chief makes the final decision and communicates it to the corresponding author, along with anonymized reviewer comments.

4. Revision and Re-Review

If revisions are requested, authors must submit a revised manuscript along with a point-by-point response letter addressing all reviewer comments. In cases of major revision, the revised manuscript may be sent back to the same reviewers for a second round of evaluation.

5. Final Decision and Publication

Once a manuscript is accepted, it undergoes final editing and proofreading before publication. All accepted articles will be published online and open access in the upcoming issue of ERJEE.

ERJEE is committed to a fair, rigorous, and timely review process to maintain the quality and integrity of scholarly communication in English language education and related fields.
